Prince William and Kate Middleton  Engaged!

After 8 years Prince William and Kate Middleton have officially announced their engagement at a posh press event at St. James Palace last week.  William and Kate, both 28, were secretly engaged on holiday in Kenya last month, with Kate telling press the proposal was “very romantic, and it was very personal.”  So personal that William even gave Kate the sapphire and diamond engagement ring that belonged to his mother, the late Princess Diana.

Westminster Abbey, the venue of the Queen and Queen Mothers wedding, will host the Marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton, on Friday 29 April. Prime Minister David Cameron, a big fan of Royal weddings, called it “a happy and momentous occasion” and announced it would be marked a public holiday.
