Last week Nicole and Elyse attended the Liverpool Women’s Network Business Lunch and Mini Expo on Friday the 30th of May. The day consisted on Nicole and Elyse networking with other women in business in the Liverpool Area. We also had a small expo stand set up showcasing some of our product range. The following article about the event appeared in the local Liverpool newspapers.
In case you can’t read the article, this is what it says:
THEY may be small-business owners but Liverpool’s women entrepreneurs are ‘‘thinking big”. More than 30 Liverpool business owners attended last Thursday’s inaugural Liverpool Mini Business Expo at Liverpool Catholic Club. NSW Small Business Minister Frank Terenzini spoke at the expo. Mr Terenzini said he understood the challenges of working in small businesses and that had worked as a mechanic before entering politics.
The Sydney Women’s Network hosted the business expo. Natalie Moutia and Cindy Steele are co-founders of the Sydney Women’s Network. They run expo and business workshops for businesswomen all over the Sydney metropolitan area and on the central coast.
‘‘Everyone made great connections,” MsMoutia said. ‘‘The conversations were flowing nonstop and it was a really positive feel good vibe.” Cindy Steele said she was impressed by businesswomen’s enthusiasm. ‘‘Our main aim is to assist women to find business referrals and assist with business growth,” MsSteele said. ‘‘Not only did we achieve that, but they all had fun and they left the event feeling motivated and inspired.” There are plans for another mini expo to be held again soon in Liverpool.
Mago Shaheen, general manager of Liverpool’s Big Copyshop&Graphics, said she found the expo educational. ‘‘These days are very important and informative for small business owners,” MsShaheen said.
The Sydney Women’s Network will hold its next monthly meeting for business owners at Liverpool Catholic Club on Thursday, June 24, starting at noon. Details: sydneywomensnetwork.com.au.
